Kambala Old Girls (KOG)

Kambala Old Girls (KOG) is the official association for former students who completed part or all of their education at Kambala. All former students are considered Kambala Old Girls (KOGs).

Formed in 1896, KOG aims to engage and support Kambala Old Girls to maintain a meaningful connection with each other and Kambala, striving to connect all alumni wherever they live. Events in Sydney, Brisbane, regional NSW, London and New York evidence a deep, global network of KOGs and Kambala's global sisterhood - we are always looking for new ways to reach out and strengthen these connections.

Servicing a strong and diverse community of more than 8,000 women, KOG offers an active portfolio of events annually with experiences for all ages, from Young Old Girls (YOGs) right up to our Golden Old Girls who left Kambala 50+ years ago.

We support our youngest old girls even before they leave Kambala, explaining what and who KOG is in a dedicated Q & A session, and help them create their own Linkedin accounts and set up their profiles. KOG provides videos for interview skills training and together with the school, prepares them for their tertiary training and early careers post Kambala.

Competition each year is fierce for KOGs 50 x Year 13 tickets to Kambala's annual Music Festival at Sydney Opera House - this mini Yr 13 Reunion kick starts a dedicated post school program for alumni, including our annual Year 13 Volunteering Day at The Infants' Home in Ashfield.

KOGs annual events calendar hosts popular business networking|mentoring events, after work drinks in the cbd, social gatherings like our popular Archibald Prize event at the AGNSW designed to link several cohorts, Linden Fellows|Interns catch-ups, and we're planning a mentor/mentee directory to be available on our website (watch this space)!

We teach YOGs how to tap into Kambala Alumni on Linkedin and find a mentor in their field, or in other areas if they're thinking of pivoting study/careers - and bridge that gap by finding accomplished alumni who are passionate about sharing their experience.

Opportunities abound to newtork with other KOGs – all alumni are welcome to join us for our very popular Business Networking Events 2-3 times a year, where we have leaders speaking about topical issues such as AI, or specific fields e.g. PE, law, medicine. Please reach out if you'd like to pitch a certain topic to present on and promote yourself and your career.

International events include Reunion drinks in New York and London annually, and we're open to other locations if you're willing to help!

Since 2015, one of the most outstanding opportunities for Kambala Old Girls continues to be Linden Fellowships and Internships at Linden Global Strategies in New York, initiated by Founder and CEO Josephine Linden AM '69. By early 2027, more than 30 high-achieving old girls will have completed Linden Fellowships and Internships in the US, under the incredible mentorship of Josephine and her wonderful team at LGS; these graduates have all gone on to lead outstanding careers.

We also have amazing internships locally with another outstanding alumni mentor Sally (Dan) Dan-Cuthbert '85 @ her eponymous art gallery, Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert in Ruschcutters Bay - several old girls have been fortunate enough to receive an internship offer from Sally over the past couple of years.

Closer to home, Sydney and regional lunches bring the country and city together while the Generations morning tea brings KOGs related to current students back to school. Mid October sees the annual Gold lunch provide the ultimate opportunity for KOGs who left Kambala over 50 years ago, come back to school, for a delicious sit down lunch in the magnificent Harbour View Rooms and reunite with peers and celebrate long lasting friendships!

KOG is also integral in safeguarding Kambala's rich heritage via our dynamic, community-led iniatives that connect our past and present. Through our KOG | Archive Oral History Series, the school actively records and preserves first-hand accounts of our Old Girls for future generations. We build on this program with interactive events like 'Marking Time', bringing alumni from the 1950s to the 1990s to life, by pairing alumni directly with senior elective history students in Bain library, to share memories, traditions and the timeless Kambala spirit.
